If you downloaded the plugin from our site, click here to read the installation steps.
Since Independent Analytics is available on the WordPress repository, the easiest way to install it is via the Plugins menu in your admin dashboard.
Start by visiting the Plugins > Add New menu.
Then use the search bar at the right side of the screen to search for “Independent Analytics”:
It should be the first result that shows up. Click the Install button to begin the installation.
The installation will take a few seconds, and then the button will change to read Activate. Click the Activate button to complete the installation.
Once the installation is complete, you’ll see this opt-in form about data sharing:
This is entirely optional and shares diagnostic data with us that helps us better understand our users (learn more about this).
After you select an option in the opt-in form, you’ll be redirected to your analytics dashboard.
You’ll see a notice at the bottom requesting you clear your cache. This will ensure that Independent Analytics can track new visits and only needs to be completed once.
With Independent Analytics installed, new visitors will get recorded immediately, and you can refresh the page to see them show up.
If you still don’t see visits getting recorded, follow the debugging steps here:
