If you are not seeing city or country data in the Geographic report, here’s how you can fix it quickly.
When Independent Analytics is installed, it adds a file called iawp-geo-db.mmdb into the /wp-content/uploads/
folder of your website.
This file is a type of database that maps IP addresses to physical locations and is used to get visitor location data for the Geographic report.
If you do not see any data in the Geographic report, this means there was an error downloading the iawp-geo-db.mmdb file into /wp-content/uploads/
.
To fix this, start by opening your site’s /wp-content/uploads/
folder. Your hosting account probably has a “file manager” tool you can use, but if not, you can install the free File Manager plugin.
Inside /wp-content/uploads/
, you may see a file called iawp-geo-db.zip. If you see this file, you can simply extract the zip file, and you’ll see the iawp-geo-db.mmdb file appear. Geographic tracking will begin working immediately, and you can delete the zip version of the file.
If you do not see iawp-geo-db.zip, then please click here to download the file. Upload it to the /wp-content/uploads/
folder and unzip it, and you will then see country and city data appearing in the Geographic report.
