A “landing page” is the first page a visitor arrives at when accessing your website. They’re also referred to as your site’s “entrance pages.”
Finding your site’s top landing pages will let you know which pages are attracting the most visitors to your website.
There are two ways you can find this data in your analytics.
We have a tutorial on Entrances, Exits, and Exit Rates if you’d like to learn more about these metrics.
The Top Landing Pages report
The easiest way to find your site’s top landing pages is by visiting the pre-configured Top Landing Pages report. You can find it in the sidebar under the Pages report.
In the data table, you’ll find all of your pages sorted most-to-least by entrances. This gives you a list of your pages with the most entrances, AKA your top landing pages.
How to create this report yourself
It’s important to understand that the pre-configured Top Landing Pages report is useful, but it’s also added for demonstration purposes. You can create similar reports all on your own.
For instance, to create this report yourself, you would visit the Pages report, and start by enabling the Entrances table column.
Then, click the Entrances table header to sort the results from most entrances to least.
You now have a list of your site’s top landing pages. You can customize which table columns are shown, change the date picker, and add any filters you want.
When you’re done, click the Save As button, and you can name this new report.
The new report will be saved in the sidebar where you can access it anytime with just one click.
