How to Stop the Overview Report from Refreshing in the Background

This feature is only available in the Pro version of Independent Analytics.

Independent Analytics Pro runs a cron job every hour to refresh the Overview report’s data. This way, you don’t have to wait for the report to load when you open it, and the modules display recent data.

For the vast majority of websites, this works well. However, for sites with a high volume of traffic, these additional analytics requests can impact performance. For this reason, we’ve added an option to disable the cron job entirely. Then, the Overview will only reload the modules when you visit it and click the Refresh link in the toolbar.

To disable the Overview report’s hourly cron job, you can add the following line of code to your wp-config.php file:

define('IAWP_DISABLE_OVERVIEW_HOURLY_REFRESH', true);

With that code added, Independent Analytics Pro will immediately cancel the existing cron job and will not schedule another one.
