If you want to build a sustainable business online, it's important not to rely on one website for too much of your traffic.
For instance, you can see the different websites that send this site traffic, and Google is responsible for about 40% of the total visitors. Now that's quite a lot for one website, but it's also not unheard of for Google in particular. What you don't want to see is 80% or even 90% of your traffic coming just from Google.
Now, while you can look at these sites individually, it can also help a lot to group them by type. This allows you to see as a whole that 42% of the visitors come from search, 30% are coming from other websites, 23% direct, 13% from social, and only about almost 2% coming from AI. This gives you a really nice way to view the overall spread of your visitors, as well as other metrics.
If you want to see exactly where your lead gen submissions are coming from, this lets you see exactly how many signups you're getting from each traffic source, as well as the conversion rate.
Now this is already pretty useful the way it is, but if you want to take it a step further you can save a new report as referrer types, and then after that's done we're gonna go to the overview report, add a new module, choose Pie Chart and I'll just call it a pie chart for now, that's fine. I'll choose referrer types, I'll sort it by visitors' last 30 days, and now with all that work out of the way, what you're gonna see is a nice visual representation of where my traffic is coming from.
Now I can see very easily the breakdown of visitors between each source, and I can even create another pie chart or edit this one if I'd like to show those lead gen submissions instead. So in just a moment, you can quickly get a feel for where your traffic is coming from and where your form submissions are coming from.
What you want to make sure of is that you're not getting, you know, 80%, 90% of your signups or your traffic from one individual source. If you are, this is a sign that it's time to start diversifying.
